Shiraoi Ainu Museum (Porotokotan)

              The Shiraoi Ainu Museum (アイヌ民族博物館, Ainu Minzoku Hakubutsukan) is one of the nation's best galleries about the Ainu, the indigenous individuals of northern Japan. The outside historical center, which is likewise ordinarily known as Porotokotan (significance extensive lakeside town in the Ainu dialect), is an imitation town comprising of five thatched houses along the shore of Lake Poroto. 

                Each of the houses at Porotokotan shows diverse parts of Ainu society and way of life. One of the bigger houses holds a free, hourly execution (beginning 15 minutes after the hour) with customary Ainu society moves, melodies and mouth harp exhibitions. One of these society moves, which is performed to send off the spirits of dead bears, was assigned an UNESCO immaterial social.
